It all began in 1945 with a goal and an ideal. Back then, founder and visionary Salvatore A. Leonardi Sr., took a risk to achieve his goal of the manufacturing of quality US made products, and to realize his lifelong ideal of continually improving the products and processes he offered through constant input from employees and feedback from clients.

He began with the manufacturing of metal frames for handbags, attaché cases, diaper bags, and brief cases. This primarily involved metal stamping, heat treating, plating and final assembling which was supported by Leonardi’s own in-house tool room.

Over the past eighty-plus years, Leonardi Manufacturing has continued to focus on the goals and ideals of Salvatore, and the importance of exceeding expectations to meet its clients' needs. Over those years, as the management changed, the family never did - still family owned and operated by the lineage of Salvatore. Each of the Leonardi's have spent their years learning the business from the inside out and the bottom up. That knowledge has helped Leonardi expand its offerings as well as the industries that it performs services in.

Today...
Today, what is referred to as the Custom Contract Manufacturing portion makes up about half of the business and services a fairly wide range of industries. Some of these include theatrical rigging, air conditioning, and cutlery. The other part of the business is in the Tree Care or Special Products segments where Leonardi continues to be a leader and standard setter for others to follow and clients to benefit from.
